Joan C. Marion

Joan C. (Collier) Marion, 84, of Butler, passed away on Nov. 4, 2021, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born June 1, 1937, in McKees Rocks, and was the daughter of the late Alfred Collier and the late Laura (Michniewicz) Collier.

Joan was a member of the Institute for Learning and Retirement.

She loved sports, baseball, football, basketball, pen pals, reading and travel.

She was Catholic by faith.

She is survived by her son, John L. Marion, and his wife, Tracy, of Erie; one grandchild, Brady Marion; and one sister, Carol Gunning, and her husband, Thomas, of Maryland.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Marion, who passed away February 1993; and a granddaughter, Janelle Marion, who passed away Aug. 5, 2003.

MARION — Friends of Joan C. (Collier) Marion, who died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021, will be received from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.

A blessing service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Dan Waruszewski of All Saints Parish officiating.

Burial will take place in the St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Pittsburgh.

Memorials are suggested to the Millcreek Youth Athletic Association, 2614 Colonial Ave., Erie, PA 16506.
