Janet E. Reader, 99, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021, at Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople, where she was a resident for the last 11 years.

Born Jan. 31, 1922, in Rochester, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John E. Radtke and Sarah E. (Reed) Radtke.

Janet was a graduate of Rochester High School, and was employed by the Beaver Falls Selective Service Board during World War II.

She was a member of Calvin Presbyterian Church in Zelienople.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, John and Cathryn (West) Reader of New Brighton; a daughter-in-law, Nancy (Calhoun) Reader of Zelienople; five grandchildren, Megan (Jim) Murphy of Portersville, Laura (Justin) McDaid of Prospect, Heather (Angelo) Villavicencio of Hopewell, Pa., Jonathan (Christina) Reader of East Palestine, Ohio, and Nathaniel Reader of Salladasburg, Pa.; and five great-grandsons.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, James M. Reader; and a son, James M. Reader Jr.

READER — Friends of Janet E. Reader, who died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. with a funeral service at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, 2021, at Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.

She will be laid to rest at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park in Rochester, Pa.
