With winter weather approaching, Butler Area School District has released information about its alert system for school cancellations and delays.

A news release from the district says Superintendent Brian White decides to delay or cancel school based on weather reports, and coordinates the schedules with the transportation department.

Parents will be alerted to delays or cancellations through the district's official website or television news. An automated phone call, text message and email also will be sent to parents.

On snow days, students will not move to remote learning, but instead will make up any lost learning days if necessary.
