Opal McClymonds

Opal Irene Grim McClymonds, 95, of Portersville, passed away at her residence on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021.

She was born in Ellwood City, on Feb. 2, 1926, the daughter to Richard Reed Grim and Amy Elizabeth Miller Grim. She married Paul E McClymonds. Opal and Paul were married 26 years until his death in 1980.

She worked as a Avon Sales Representative for over 57 years. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church at Isle. She enjoyed embroidery work, travel, and loved fellowship with the “Keenagers.”

She is survived by her sister, Ella M. Barkley of West Sunbury, and niece, Loretta Wiskeman of West Sunbury, who was her caregiver for the past year and a half. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great-nephews, and great-great nieces and great-great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Eula Stevenson and Jeanette Buchanan; and brother, Hollis Grim.

The family wishes to thank VNA Hospice and in particular staff, Dee and Anna. They are also very grateful to Kathy Osterling and Sonia Green.

McClymonds — Family of Opal Irene Grim McClymonds, who died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021, will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., in Slippery Rock.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Ben Oesterling, pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, presiding.

Interment will be in Portersville Bible Church Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
