Bernadette Athanasiou

Bernadette Sokol Athanasiou, formerly of Baldwin Borough, was called home to the Lord from her home in Evans City on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021.

Bernadette was cared for by her daughters, Theresa and Michelle.

Bernadette is also survived by her daughter, Lynn Green of Walsenburg, Colo.; and a son, Michael Lanick of Shaler.

Bernadette was also loved by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bernadette retired from the Westin William Penn Hotel after many years of service.

Bernie was very proud of attending to the needs of the business travelers, as well as many celebrities over her many years of service. Mom would also mention Julie Andrews as one of her favorite guests, and said she was as sweet as the characters she played, and was a very gracious lady.

Bernie will always be remembered for her attention to detail, and for her sweet and generous heart by all who knew her over her lifetime.

ATHANASIOU — Funeral arrangements for Bernadette Sokol Athanasiou, who died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021, were entrusted to BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 116 E. Main St., Evans City.
