William Mchale

William “Alex” McHale, 67, of New Castle, passed away on Oct. 20, 2021, at UPMC Jameson following an extended illness.

He was born on Sept. 22, 1954, and was the son of the late John C. McHale Sr. and Glenda “Rusty” McHale-Garcia. He was raised in Portersville.

William graduated from Slippery Rock High School.

He was a volunteer firefighter for the Portersville Volunteer Fire Department, and then went on to complete the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local Union 66 apprenticeship. He worked his entire career of over 40+ years with them.

He was a longtime member of the Kings Chapel United Methodist Church.

Before his illness, he enjoyed golfing, fishing, and spending time with his family. William loved making people laugh, having fun and being a people person.

William is survived by his son, Justin McHale; his stepfather, Benjamin Garcia; his sisters, Sharon Isacco of Slippery Rock, and Susie McHale of Frederick, Md.; his brother, John McHale of Weston, W.Va.; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephews, James Fedor and Charles Matuke; his paternal grandparents, John and Louella McHale; his maternal grandmother, Elsie Simons; and his sister, Pamela McHale.

McHALE — Visitation for William “Alex” McHale, who died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021, will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at Noga Funeral Home, 1142 Mill St., New Castle.

A memorial service will be held immediately following the visitation at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Darryl Lockie will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace United Methodist Ministry, 135 Decker Drive, New Castle, PA 16105.
