SRU appoints Michael Zieg new provost
Michael Zieg has been appointed associate provost of academic finance, strategic initiatives and assessment at Slippery Rock University.
His responsibilities will include academic budgeting, overseeing assessment and accreditation activities, as well as coordinating with departments for research and grants. Zieg has been a faculty member at SRU since 2003.
“We’re really grateful to have someone who has been a faculty member, a department chair and a dean on this campus, who can bring insider experience to serve our office and the University,” said Abbey Zink, provost and vice president for academic affairs in a statement.
Nicole Dafoe will fill Zieg’s current position as interim dean when he becomes assistant provost in 2022. She is department chair and professor of the biology department. Dafoe will occupy the position until two new deans are hired.
“I’m excited to serve the college as we navigate the opportunities and challenges that will come with this transition,” Dafoe said in a statement.
