James E. Riemer

James E. Riemer, 69, of Butler, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021, at his residence.

He was born June 5, 1952, in Butler, and was the son of the late Melvin P. Riemer and the late Elsie Mae Heasley Riemer.

James was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.James was the past president of the Keystone Paralyzed Veterans of America, was a volunteer at the Butler VA, he competed in the wheelchair games, and was a member of the American Legion 117.He worked in the construction industry.James attended Summit Presbyterian Church.He is survived by his son, Bradley (Michele) Riemer.RIEMER — Friends of James E. Riemer, who died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Edmundson officiating.Officers and members of the American Legion Post 117, American Legion Post 778 and VFW Post 249 will conduct military services.A private burial will take place in the Summit Church Cemetery.Memorials are suggested to the Keystone Paralyzed Veterans of the America, 1113 Main St., Pittsburgh, PA 15215.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
