Man stabbed in attempted burglary case
A man attempting to burglarize a Chicora home late Wednesday was stabbed by a resident, police said.
State police responded at approximately 11:20 p.m. Wednesday to South Main Street in Chicora for a reported burglary in progress.
According to a news release from state police, Kurt Leinenbach, 35, of Chicora, broke a window to gain entry to a residence that was occupied by six people.
Leinenbach was then struck by the occupants with multiple objects and stabbed one time during the altercation, police said. Leinenbach threatened that he would come back and kill everyone before fleeing the residence, police said. He was located a short time later, and was provided medical attention for his injuries, police said.
According to the release, Leinenbach used a stolen vehicle from Oakland Township to drive to and from the incident. The stolen vehicle was later recovered, police said.
Leinenbach is charged with theft and unauthorized use of motor vehicles. More charges will be forthcoming in relation to burglary, terroristic threats and other related charges, the news release said.
