Joseph S. Foster

Joseph S. Foster, 85, of Butler, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021.

He was born March 2, 1936, in Pittsburgh, and was the son of the late Lawrence and Loretta Foster.

Joseph worked as a welder for Dravo for most of his career, and later retired from Goss Gas.

He was a member of St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church.

Joseph enjoyed boating. He was known to be very family oriented, hardworking and kind. Joseph also built three houses for himself and his family.

He was the beloved husband of Nancy Foster since their marriage in 1956; father of Christine (Perry) Robinson, Joseph (Nancy) Foster, Gerard Foster, Thomas (Kim) Foster, Charles (Sue) Foster, Paul (Renee) Foster, Jane (Chris) Ott, Peter (Stephanie) Foster, Daniel (Donna Jean) Foster and Jill (Chris) Vari.

Joseph is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his seven siblings.

FOSTER — Friends of Joseph S. Foster, who died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 10, 2021, at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church.

Burial will follow in St. Peter R.C. Cemetery.
