Charles Steighner

Charles G. Steighner, 88, of Butler, passed away Thursday, Oct. 7, 2021, at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Dec. 14, 1932, in Mars, he was the son of the late Charles C. Steighner and the late Emma (Kornick) Steighner.

Charles graduated from Mars High School.He served in the U.S. Army in Korea.Charles was a member of the All Saints Parish at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.He retired from International Staple and Machine Co. in 1995.Charles enjoyed word search puzzles, and watching and cheering on the Pittsburgh Pirates, Penguins and Steelers.He is survived by his wife, Carol Steighner, whom he married Nov. 24, 1960; one daughter, Linda Sell, and one granddaughter, Megan Sell, all of Butler; one nephew, Ralph Spithaler Jr. (Bette) of Evans City; and his cousins.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter; one sister, Dorothy Spithaler; and one brother-in-law, Ralph Spithaler Sr.STEIGHNER — There will be no public visitation for Charles G. Steighner, who died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2021.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Monday at All Saints Parish, St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler, with the Rev.
