Lyle Miller
Dr. Lyle Kenneth Miller, born in Harmony on Oct. 28, 1926, passed away peacefully on Oct. 5, 2021, while under the care of Good Samaritan Hospice.
Lyle and Jennie Lee married on Oct. 8, 1960.
Dr. Miller served for two years in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University, and practiced veterinary medicine for over 50 years at the “Miller Animal Hospital” in Harmony.He served as a school board member and president at the Seneca Valley School District.He was an active member of Dutilh United Methodist Church in Cranberry Township, with the Small Group, and The Faithful Followers. He was also a member of SAR (Sons of the American Revolution).He enjoyed long-distance amateur radio, and communicated long distance with people from around the world. Among his many interests were bagpiping, crafting with silver, travel, reading, crossword puzzles, Bible devotion and study, and meeting new people. In his final years, he began submitting articles to magazines regarding veterinary medicine, and had one published.He and his wife were members of the Keystone Squares in Butler.He is survived by his wife, Jennie Lee Miller; and his three daughters, Lorena (David) Pearce of Chesapeake, Va., Melanie Cole of Waldorf, Md., and Holly (Murnis) Banner of Manassas, Va.He had seven grandchildren, Alexander Pearce, Daniel Pearce, Jagger Cole, Stone Cole, Mitchell Banner, Brendan Banner and Miranda Banner.He leaves behind one surviving brother, Thayer (Lindaflor); and three nephews, Thor, Kent and Leif.MILLER — Friends of Dr. Lyle Kenneth Miller, who died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2021, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev.
