Retail, fast food coming to Route 8
Those who have noticed ongoing work at the former Trader Horn store on the south end of the Greater Butler Mart in Butler Township will see a new retail store in the large space in the coming weeks.
Ben Roth, a senior associate at CBRE in Pittsburgh, which leases the spaces in the shopping center, could not reveal the retail venue leasing the store, but said construction should finish up in the next two weeks.
He said the unnamed company leased the entire space, which is more than 50,000 square feet.
Roth could not divulge what type of retailer leased the store, which was a Gaylord's department store before being leased by Trader Horn.
Work should begin in the next few months on a Taco Bell restaurant planned for the site of the former gas station on the southwest corner of the Greater Butler Mart.Roth said the business finally received the required permits to move forward with construction. He said the restaurant likely will open in the spring.Roth said he has been in talks with a few grocers regarding the lease of the former Friedman's Freshmarkets store in the Greater Butler Mart.“We continue to pursue grocers as the primary goal for that space,” he said.
