William A. Schulz
William A. Schulz, 78, of Valencia, passed away on Friday morning, Oct. 1, 2021, at his home surrounded by family.
Born in Wilkinsburg, on June 5, 1943, he was the son of the late W. Paul and Hulda Morrison Schulz.
He was a graduate of Mars High School Class of 1961. Bill was employed by North Pittsburgh Telephone Company for 42.5 years, beginning as a fleet maintenance technician and at retirement was a fiber optic cable splicer, one of the first in Pennsylvania. He also worked for Purvis Brothers Pennzoil for 20 years and was a life member of the Mars Volunteer Fire Department, now Adams Area Fire District.
Surviving is his wife of 57 years, Karen Lucille Wehr, who he married on June 26, 1964. He was the proud father of Robin Renfrew of Cranberry Township, Diane “Dee” Schulz of Valencia and Scott Schulz (Sharon Mikolas Schwartz) of Butler; and proud grandfather of Ethan (Catherine) Renfrew of Butler. He is also survived by his in-laws, Edward (Beverly) Wehr, Kenneth (Chery) Wehr, and Rebecca Burkert (Dan Gitzen), all of Butler; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family wishes to extend a gracious thank you to the staff of the Hillman Cancer Center at UPMC Passavant and UPMC Shadyside for the wonderful care and support throughout Bill's illness.
