Multiple medical helicopters called to I-79 crash involving school bus

A multivehicle crash, involving a school bus, and the request for medical helicopters, closed the northbound lanes of Interstate 79 at Route 422 in Worth Township late Tuesday afternoon.

Multiple emergency crews responded to a vehicle crash involving a school bus Tuesday afternoon near mile marker 99.6 on I-79 northbound in Worth Township.

Butler County dispatch called for several medical helicopters to respond to the scene at around 4:30 p.m.

Pennsylvania State Police said the northbound and southbound lanes were closed from the Portersville exit to mile post 102.

State police, Portersville Muddy Creek Township Volunteer Fire Department and Harmony EMS were among those that responded to the scene.
