Michael Nebel

Michael A. Nebel, 60, of Davie, Fla., died unexpectedly on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2021.

He was born on April 2, 1961, in Butler to the late Alfred and Anna Jane (Snodgrass) Nebel.

Michael graduated from Butler Area High School with the Class of 1979. Following graduation, he served honorably in the U.S. National Guard.

Michael married his high school sweetheart, Tracy (Perry) Nebel on Aug. 11, 1990, in Garner, N.C. They later settled in Davie, Fla., where they have lived for the past 26 years, and they recently celebrated 31 years of marriage.

Michael was a member of St. David's Catholic Church in Davie, Fla.

He worked in construction for most of his life. He was an avid classic car enthusiast and enjoyed attending car shows and working on the restoration of his classic Road Runner. Michael very much enjoyed traveling with his wife Tracy, experiencing numerous different countries and states together. He loved cheering on his hometown teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Tracy (Perry) Nebel; stepmother, Ruthann Nebel; his brother, Joseph (Judy) Nebel of Wilson, N.C.; and sisters Christy and Pamela. He was the brother-in-law to Diana (Ralph) Sarver, Connie (Leroy) Widenhofer, Pamela (Tim) Shepard, Lisa Baptiste, Denel (Samuel) Cavalero and the late Rhonda Mottern. Michael was also the uncle to many nieces and nephews.

NEBEL — A Mass of Christian burial for Michael A. Nebel, who died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2021, will be held for family and friends at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6 at St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery of Chicora. A luncheon will immediately follow in Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church. Services are through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road. Butler.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Kidney Foundation Fund.
