Ronald M. Cooper
Ronald M. Cooper, 86, of Butler, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2021 at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 10, 1935, in Butler, the son of the late Frank and Alberta (Kurtz) Cooper.
Ron graduated from Penn Township High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in England. Ron was a 54-year member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he had sung in the choir. He also sang with the Joy Singing Group. Ron retired with 37 years from Armco in 1995.Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Norma (Wick) Cooper; his son, Chris (Wendy) Cooper of Pittsburgh; his stepdaughter, Karen (Jack) Swidzinski of Meridian; a stepson, Robert (Becky) Meals of Butler; one granddaughter, Rae Cooper; four stepgrandchildren, Nic Swidzinski, Layne (Swidzinski) Wood, Sydney and Jordan Meals; three stepgreat-grandchildren, Violet and Briggs Wood and Sienna Meals Dupree; his brother-in-law, John (Elsie) Wick; and many nieces and nephews.Ron was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Gloria (Cooper) Patten, and two brothers, Robert and Gordon.COOPER — A memorial service for Ronald M.
