Alison P. Jones
Alison P. Jones, a resident of Amber Woods at Harmar Village in Cheswick, Pa., and formerly of Butler, passed away Sept. 25, 2021.
She was born Nov. 11, 1930, in Butler, and was the daughter of the late father, Allison, and the late mother, Martha (Sheppard) Guthrie.
She was a member of St. Andrews United Presbyterian Church.
Alison was affectionately known as Honey to some of her family members and friends, and as Gus, a nickname originally bestowed upon her by her dear friends from the high school Class of 1948.
She always enjoyed a good laugh with family and friends, playing cards and traveling, and she dearly loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In 1950, Alison married Walter H. Jones and they raised three children: Larry G. Jones of Houston, Texas; Lance W. Jones (Mary Ellen Call) of Pittsburgh; and Kristi M. Caplan (Bernie Caplan) of Pittsburgh.
She is survived by her son, Lance, and his partner; daughter, Kristi, and her husband; and four granddaughters, one great-granddaughter and two great grandsons. She is also survived by Robert Somerville, her companion for the last 19 years.
Alison was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter; and her eldest son, Larry.
We would like to thank Amber Woods at Harmar Village, where Alison had lived since June of 2019. She had wonderful care there.
