Summit man charged with sex crime

A 20-year-old man is accused of having sex with a 14-year-old girl.

State police charged Corey A. Cieslak of Summit Township with felony counts of statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault, child pornography and corruption of minors.

District Judge William O'Donnell arraigned Cieslak on Wednesday and released him on $50,000 unsecured bond.

According to charging documents, the 14-year-old girl's parents saw sexually explicit images and videos on her phone, and they called the police.

The police interviewed the girl in June. Police said the girl told officers she started talking with Cieslak in February on the phone app Snapchat, and the two began meeting in March.

The girl told officers she and Cieslak had sex three or four different times at various locations, including Moraine State Park and the Super 8 in Butler.

“The girl advised they both had taken pictures using Snapchat of the sexual activity during the Super 8 stay,” said the investigating officer.

Police interviewed Cieslak, and he confirmed the same information and admitted to having sexual relations with the underage girl, typically in his truck.

Police said they also later extracted a conversation, including inappropriate images from the girl's phone.

A preliminary hearing for Cieslak has been scheduled Dec. 8 before O'Donnell.
