A domestic incident escalated as a man allegedly shoved an officer and resisted during his arrest late Tuesday night.

Butler City Police filed charges against Theodore C. Young, 76, of Butler, who was later arraigned by District Judge William Fullerton and released on his own recognizance.

According to charging documents, police arrived at a possible domestic dispute around 10:07 p.m. at a home on the 200 block of Kaufman Drive.

Police said Young called for EMS to take his wife to a hospital for being drunk.

“EMS advised me that (the wife) refused to go to the hospital and said she just wanted to go to sleep,” police said.
