Helen McGreevy
Helen “Charlie” McGreevy, 89, of Butler, passed away on Sept. 23, 2021, at Chicora Medical Center, following a brief ailment.
Helen was born April 7, 1932, in Wilkinsburg, and was the daughter of the late Ralph and Edna Bonine.
Charlie was the wife of the late James McGreevy, whom she married on Aug. 22, 1953.
Charlie enjoyed volunteering for Meals on Wheels and working at Butler Hospital in the Cherry Tree Gift Shop.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, drinking wine, spending time with her family and traveling with her sister, Saundra. She was also an avid collector of teddy bears.
She is survived by her sons, Terry (Tami) McGreevy and Michael McGreevy; her siblings, Kenneth (Barb) Bonine and Saundra (Ernie) Scholze; her grandchildren, Stephanie (Mike) DeBacco, Katie McGreevy, Lacey (Paul) McGarrity and Maureen (Jake) Wagner; her great-grandchildren, Eddie, Isaac, Alexz, Tyren, Jayne and Nora; many nieces and nephews; and her great friend, whom she spoke of highly and often, Sue (Bob) Davis.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; and her parents.
MCGREEVY — A private viewing and burial were held for Helen “Charlie” McGreevy, who died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2021.
Arrangements were handled by Young Funeral Home, Butler.
