Susan E. Wetzel

Susan E. Wetzel, 67, of Richmond, Ind., died peacefully in her sleep after a long, 35-year illness on Monday, Sept. 20, 2021, at her home.

Sue was born Feb. 22, 1954, in Natrona Heights, and was a daughter of the late Audrey (McFadden) and Merle B. Wetzel. Sue lived most of her life in Buffalo Township.

Sue was a 1972 graduate of Freeport Area High School.

She worked as a picker at Moonlight Mushrooms in Winfield Township.

Sue had been a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeport.

She loved her dogs and spending time with her family.

Sue is survived by her two brothers, M. Lynn Wetzel of Richmond Ind., and Charles B. (Cheryl A.) Wetzel of Buffalo Township.

She is also survived by two nieces; four nephews; and 13 great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her nephew, Eric Wetzel; and her sister-in-law, Kelley (McCullough) Wetzel.

WETZEL — At the family's request, there will be no public visitation and burial will be private for Susan E. Wetzel, who died Monday, Sept. 20, 2021.

Arrangements are under the direction of REDMOND FUNERAL HOME, Freeport.
