Luis Miller Jr.

Luis A. Miller Jr., 68, of Worthington, passed away on Monday, Sept. 20, 2021, at ACMH in Kittanning.

He was born at 10:58 p.m. on June 7, 1953, at his grandparent's home in Lower Burrell, Pa.

He attended Butler Wesleyan Methodist Church.

Luis married the former Debbie Toy on Feb. 22, 1972, in Monroe, Mich.

He was a truck driver for 42 years, working for various companies including W.W. Rearick Trucking, Bracken Construction, McClymonds Supply & Transit, Russell Standout Corp., White's Paving, Voelker Paving, Short Time T.L. Excavating and Terry Bowser Excavating.

Luis loved driving trucks, was very fond of Buick cars, Mack trucks, Farmall tractors, and anything International Harvester. He also liked Detroit Diesel engines and antique gas and steam engines. He amassed a large collection of antiques over the years.

Luis was a member of the Portersville Steam Engine Club and Smicksburg Antique Engine and Tractor Club. He was also a member of the American Truck Historic Society.

He loved farming and had raised beef cattle for over 35 years. He also loved cutting wood, his dog, Rex, hunting, fishing in Canada, as well as gardening and fruit trees. He loved bluegrass music, and traveling with his wife. He was a jack-of-all-trades, who could fix or repair anything.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of nearly 50 years, Debbie L. Miller of Worthington; his son, Luis (Jennifer) A. Miller III of Sarver; his daughter, Susan M. (Denny) Ballock of Worthington; his brother, Ron (Becky) Miller of Dayton; his brother, Larry (Joyce) Miller of Rimersburg; his sister, Velma Hoffman of North Dakota; his brother, David (Katie) Miller of Worthington; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luis A. Miller Sr., who passed away on Sept. 25, 2004, and Velma J. (Troup) Miller, who passed away Dec. 17, 2017.

MILLER — Friends and family of Luis A. Miller Jr., who died Monday, Sept. 20, 2021, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, 119 Bear St., Worthington.

Additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday at Butler Wesleyan Methodist Church, 590 Protzman Road, Butler, with Pastor Jon Troyer officiating.

A graveside committal service will follow at Lawn Haven Burial Estates in Worthington.
