Margaret Magee

Margaret Frances “Fran” Magee, 82, of Portersville, died Sept. 13, 2021, at the Communities at Indian Haven in Indiana, Pa.

She was born Nov. 23, 1938, in Portersville, and was the daughter of the late George Irvin and Margaret Frances Lindey.

Fran was a member of Mountville Presbyterian Church in Portersville, where she was a deacon and Bible school teacher.

Fran enjoyed baking, cooking and gardening. She was a great cook, and made many signature desserts that her family enjoyed.

She enjoyed being an Avon representative for over 50 years.

Fran had a dry sense of humor, and was always trying to make people laugh. She grew up on her parent’s farms and loved animals.

Fran is survived by her husband of 64 years, Gerald W. Magee; and her children, Theresa (Magee) Sweithelm of Indiana, Pa., Paul Richard Magee and his wife, Sherry, of New Castle, Jodi (Magee) Straub and her husband, Stephen, of Maidens, Va., and Patrick Wayne Magee of Butler.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Megan Smith, Ryan Sweithelm, Sean Sweithelm, Bethany Ruhlman, Devin Straub, John Magee and Sherilynn Magee; and her sisters, Patricia Anderson of Portersville and Vanessa Carr of Tucson, Ariz.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Judith Joann Lindey.

MAGEE — A memorial service will be held at a later date for Margaret Frances “Fran” Magee, who died Monday, Sept. 13, 2021.

Arrangements are under the supervision of Bowser Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Homer City, Pa.
