Gloria Olszewski
Gloria A. (Kowalski) Olszewski, 87, of West Deer Township, formerly of Butler, was called home to our Lord and Savior in the early morning of Sept. 13, 2021.
Born March 10, 1934, in Pittsburgh, she was the loving daughter of the late Frank J. and Jean V. Kaczynski Kowalski.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Olszewski Sr., who died on June 9, 2008; her son-in-law, Peter M. Nagy; her brother, Frank J. Kowalski; and two sisters, Sylvia J. Thompson and Linda A. Roney.
Gloria was a field telephone operator and housewife.
She met her husband while he was working on the job at Gateway Center, while it was being built in downtown Pittsburgh.
Gloria enjoyed Friday night canasta, game nights, taking her family camping, and was a charter member of Sunny Majors Travelairies of Harmony.
She was a devout member of Gospel Fellowship Presbyterian Church in America, Valencia.
Gloria was the beloved mother of Robert J. Olszewski Jr., whom she resided with, of West Deer Township, Catherine A. Nagy of Cabot, Lisa M. (Bruce) Golojuh of Sarver; and was the grandmother of Kimberly A. Nagy of Cabot.
Also surviving are one brother, John (Lois) Kowalski of Pittsburgh; two sisters-in-law, Margaret A. Kowalski of Erie, and Marie Olszewski of Irwin; and several nieces and nephews.
Gloria always said, “she made us laugh.”
OLSZEWSKI — The family of Gloria A. Olszewski, who died Monday, Sept. 13, 2021, will welcome family and friends from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at Gospel Fellowship Presbyterian Church in America, 161 McFann Road, Valencia.
A celebration of life service will follow at 2 p.m. in the church sanctuary with her loving and caring pastors, the Rev. Matthew V. Everhard and the Rev. David T. O'Leary officiating.
Interment will be at St. Luke Cemetery, Cabot.
