James Pittock

James L. “Jim” Pittock, 91, of Grove City, passed away at home on Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021, following a lengthy illness.

Jim was born Nov. 3, 1929, in Barnes, Warren County. He was the son of Frederick H. and Belle R. (Donaldson) Pittock. He married Mary Janet Grant on Feb. 3, 1950, and she preceded him in death on March 19, 1978. He later married Eva J. Young on May 19, 1979. She survives at home.

Jim was a graduate of Kane High School in 1948. He completed a carpenter's apprenticeship from Montgomery Lumber in Grove City, in 1956.

Jim retired from Cooper Bessemer in 1990, following 35 years of service as an industrial carpenter.

He was a longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church, the F&AM Masonic Lodge 603, Grove City, New Castle Consistory, and the VFW Post 519.

Survivors include his wife, Eva at home; a son, James W. Pittock of Grove City; a daughter-in-law, Jodi Pittock of Erie; four grandsons, Dane, Grayson, Hayden and Brennan Pittock; and a brother, Richard Pittock and his wife, Susie of Denver, Colo.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; a daughter, Patti Lynn Pittock; a son, John Grant Pittock; two sisters; and four brothers.

Pittock — Visitation hours for James L. “Jim” Pittock, who died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021, will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2021, at Cunningham Funeral Home, Grove City.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Slippery Rock Cemetery.
