Residents can help hospital employees

Residents can embrace a Butler Health System department as the tragedy and sadness of the coronavirus pandemic wears on.

Notes or posters, lunch or dinner, a box of goodies or something that will bring a COVID-weary hospital worker a smile, or more creative items are now being accepted in the Embrace a BHS Department program.

The program is meant to lift the spirits of all BHS workers dealing with the increased COVID-19 hospital admissions that have resulted from the Delta variant.

A news release from the health system reported that the last few weeks “have brought tragedy and sadness to our healthcare system unlike anything any of us could have imagined.”

Anyone can participate in the Embrace a BHS Department by e-mailing embraceBHS@butlerhealthsystem.org and including the following information: what will be donated, number of staff the donation will embrace and day and time the donation will arrive

BHS officials will send an e-mail confirmation to donors.

BHS doctors have said workers are remaining strong, but the Delta variant has caused exhaustion at the hospital.
