Maurice Thomas
Maurice “Dick” Thomas, 87, of Valencia, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2021, at Sherwood Oaks in Cranberry Township.
Born April 8, 1934, in Seattle, Wash., he was the son of the late Maurice J. and Mildred Dickens Thomas.
Dick was a professor at the University of Pittsburgh. He also had been an educator and principal for Mount Lebanon School District.
A member of Ruthfred Lutheran Church, he had been a faithful follower of Christ.
He loved camping and traveling.
Surviving are his children, Susan (Roger) Park of Middlesex Township, Ellen Lynn (Michael) Schramm of Maryland and Edward Locke Thomas of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Karen Liske of Texas and Jeremy (Michael) Connolly of Michigan; his eight grandchildren, Katie, Collin, Michael, John, Shannon, Heather, Brittany and Courtney; his five great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Olivia, Lexi, James and Gavin; and the mother of his children, Joanne Grubs.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Good Thomas; and his son, Maurice Stephen (surviving Pam of Texas) Thomas.
THOMAS — A private family service will be held for Maurice “Dick” Thomas, who died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2021.
Burial will be in West Union Cemetery, Pine Township.
Arrangements under the direction of McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.
