Terence Truax Sr.
Terence James Truax Sr., 77, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2021, at Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia in Cabot.
He was born Feb. 1, 1944, and was the son of the late Vincent P. and Margaret Welsh Truax.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Emma Truax; and his wife, Janet Lynn Richardson Truax.
He is survived by his children, Terence James (Julie) Truax Jr. and Erin Lynn (Thomas) Jordan; his grandchildren, Mallory, Ryan, Sarah, Katherine and Noah; his brothers, Vincent P. (Mary Ann) Truax II and Dennis R. (Nora) Truax; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Terry was a lifetime parishioner of Corpus Christi Church, and a longtime member of Corpus Christi School Booster Group. He served many roles in the boosters, and spent countless hours working parish festivals, processing football sheets, and providing his kids with an example of volunteerism that they have carried on in their own children's schools.
Terry began his career as a beauty supplies salesman at Friebertshauser's in Wheeling. He was a partner in the Friebertshauser business for 17 years. He retired from BSG Corp. in 2013.
Terry enjoyed hunting, attending the high school football and basketball games, and watching many sports, especially the Steelers. After retirement, he enjoyed visiting with his grandkids, coffee with the guys on Wednesdays, and became a member of the Lewis/Wetzel Shooting Club.
TRUAX — Friends of Terence James Truax Sr., who died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2021, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Kepner Funeral Home-Burke Chapel, 2101 Warwood Ave., Wheeling, W.Va., where a vigil service will be held at 7 p.m.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, with Father Paul M., C.S.T., as celebrant.
