William Friedt Sr.

William Gerald “Jerry” Friedt Sr., 78, of Lancaster Township, passed away on Monday, Aug. 30, 2021.

Born Nov. 11, 1942, in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Myron Beecher Friedt and Elizabeth Fair (Ireland) Friedt.

Jerry proudly served our country in the U.S. Army.He worked as a self-employed contractor.He loved the outdoors, and was an avid hunter. He also enjoyed working in his garage.Jerry was an avid NASCAR fan, and never missed watching a race. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and his dog, Hannah, whom he claimed was the only dog who liked him.He is survived by his wife, Renae Watson Friedt; his sons, Kurt (Rochelle) Friedt and Jerry (Tammy) Friedt; his grandchildren, Colton, Dane and Sage Friedt; his mother-in-law, Connie Watson; his brother-in-law, Howard Watson; his niece, Linsey Watson; his nephew, Leo Watson; and his longtime friend, Glenda Waldrop.In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Danny Watson.FRIEDT — Services for William Gerald “Jerry” Friedt Sr., who died Monday, Aug. 30, 2021, will be held privately by the family.He will be laid to rest privately with military honors at Allegheny County Memorial Park.Arrangements were entrusted to Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E.
