Harry L. Benson III

Harry L. Benson III, 71, of Slippery Rock, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021, surrounded by his family.

Harry was born on Sept. 14, 1949, in Pittsburgh, and was a son of the late Harry L. Benson Jr. and the late Marion Zoe (Conner) Campbell.

Harry loved his job working as a construction engineer for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. His other passion in life was raising Belgian draft horses.

Harry is survived by one son, Harry L. Benson IV of Slippery Rock; one daughter, Lori (Marty) Morrison of Forestville; five grandchildren, Ashley, Mikayla, Kyle, Kelly and Ryan; one brother-in-law, Jeff McCool of Union City; his two daughters and one son; and one sister-in-law, Marilyn Waddell of Gibsonia.

Harry was preceded in death by his wife, the love of his life, Connie (Waddell) Benson; an infant sister; and his sister, Marion “Emy” McCool.

BENSON — Family and friends of Harry L. Benson III, who died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Lewis officiating.

Burial will be in West Sunbury Union Cemetery.
