Daniel J. Stelbotsky
Daniel J. Stelbotsky, 87, of Aiken, S.C., passed away on Aug. 21, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Joan S. (Paganelli) Stelbotsky.
Born April 22, 1934, in Butler, he was the son of the late Stephen and Carolyn (Quashnock) Stelbotsky.
Dan served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 to 1959, and was stationed in Germany, and Tacoma, Wash. Upon his discharge, he then went to work for Armco Steel Corp. in Butler until his retirement. He was also a radio disc jockey for WBUT in Butler for several years.He was a faithful communicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Aiken, where he served as a lector. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Fourth Degree.He enjoyed hunting and was an avid golfer. He was a member of Houndslake Country Club in Aiken, and he was fortunate to have been a patron at the Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta, Ga., several times.He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Barbara J. (Stelbotsky) Lorris; and his daughter, Catherine Stelbotsky Willett.Dan will be lovingly remembered by his children, Michael Stelbotsky (Cynthia), Carolyn Saxton (Keith) of Lovettsville, Va., and Elizabeth Baughman (Todd) of Warner Robins, Ga.; and his son-in-law, Joe Willett of Moon Township; his grandchildren, Brian and Bradley Stelbotsky, Jackie Washington, and Zach Saxton, Emma, Alex and Dylan Baughman, and Grace and Jack Willett; as well as his seven great-grandchildren.STELBOTSKY — The family of Daniel J. Stelbotsky, who died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021, will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home, 715 E. Pine Log Road, Aiken, S.C.A graveside service will follow in Calvary Cemetery with the Rev. Francisco Onate-Vargas as celebrant.Military honors will be accorded by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard.
