Ralph Cain

Ralph DuWayne Cain, 81, of Medical Center Road, Chicora, formerly of Burgettstown, went to be with the Lord early Saturday morning, Aug. 21, 2021, at the Chicora Medical Center.

Ralph was born at home in Five Points, Pa., on March 6, 1940. He was the son of the late Ralph L. and Gladys O. Locke Cain.

He was a graduate of Union/Burgettstown High School. He attended Faith Fellowship Alliance Church in Butler. Ralph was an avid fisherman and hunter, and he was proud of his many successful hunts, especially getting a bear in Canada and an elk in Colorado, as well as many deer, turkey and squirrels. He always had a special way with animals and had many dogs. He enjoyed camping in Slippery Rock with many friends and acquaintances for more than 42 years. He was an avid card player, and his greatest pride and joy were his granddaughters and great-grandson.

Ralph retired early as a mill right from Weirton Steel in 1994 following 35 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Bonita G. Tedrow Cain, whom he married in Florence, Pa., on July 27, 1961. Also surviving are two sons, Troy Allen Cain of Key West, Fla., and Tracy Paul Cain and his wife, Karen, of Chicora; two granddaughters, Marnie Cain-Wishon and her husband, John, and Joey Cain and her boyfriend, Codie Moyer; a great-grandson, Wren Cain-Wishon; his siblings, Elva Jones of Burgettstown, Esther Anderson and her husband, David of Georgetown, Pa., Darlene Cain of Burgettstown, and Geraldine Dorn of Beaver Falls; a sister-in-law, Suzie Cain of Hookstown, Pa.; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings and their spouses, Charles “Chuck” and Sarah Cain, and Bill Jones, Ada Hargest, and Howard Cain; and a brother-in-law, David Dorn.

Cain — A memorial service for Ralph DuWayne Cain, who died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, 200 Faith Way, Butler, with associate pastor, Rev. Andy Wills, officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Fellowship Alliance Church.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora.
