Norma Jean Lyon
Norma Jean Lyon, 93, of Harmony, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2021, at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Butler.
Norma was born on Nov. 13, 1927, in Harmony, and was the daughter of the late Harry and Elsie Mitchell Shaffer.
For 70 years, Norma was a part-time magician and assistant to her husband, Ralph, who was a member of the Pittsburgh International Magicians Guild. Together, they brought joy to the Butler and Pittsburgh areas, performing with their miniature horse, Wonder.
She enjoyed her C.B. radio, and operated it under the handle, “Harmonite.” Norma also enjoyed photography and going to the casino. Above all, Norma loved spending time with her family.
Norma leaves behind to cherish her memory three nieces, Robin (Terry) Batykefer, Debbie (David) Schuster and Melanie (Brad) Dietrich; her sister, Ruth Shaffer Underwood Williams; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph W. Lyon, who passed away Nov. 17, 2019; two sisters; and two brothers.
LYON — Friends of Norma Jean Lyon, who died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2021, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Boylan Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Connoquenessing Township, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.
Additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the celebration of life service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Reid Moon officiating.
Norma will be laid to rest at Grace Bible Church Cemetery in Middle Lancaster.
