Man sought for identity theft in Adams Twp.

An arrest warrant has been issued for a Harrisburg man who allegedly tried to steal someone's identity.

Adams Township Police on Monday filed charges against Franyerson Pujols Reynoso, 19, including felony identity theft, possessing counterfeit material, and possessing an offensive weapon, related to a string of events in late July.

According to charging documents, police received a report July 30 about a group of people visiting the 200 block of Southern Valley Court in Adams Township in a suspicious vehicle. Police said the caller reported the men were looking for a package.

Police said they were given a description of the vehicle, which they saw while driving to the scene. Police said they followed the vehicle and pulled it over after it failed to stop at a stop sign.

According to police, Pujols Reynoso was the driver and there was a minor in the passenger seat. Police said when they asked why the two were in the area, the passenger told officers they had mailed a package with the wrong ZIP code.

Police said they noticed the smell of marijuana and requested backup from the Evan City/Seven Fields Regional Police Department.

“I again spoke about the package, and (the passenger) again confirmed that he had sent the package to a wrong ZIP code, and that it contained clothing items,” police said.

Police then told Pujols Reynoso about the smell of marijuana, and the adult gave his approval to search the vehicle. According to police, they found 22 bags of marijuana, which were claimed by the youth passenger.

During the encounter, police asked Pujols Reynoso if he had anything illegal in his possession, at which time the man pulled out a switchblade knife and set it on the vehicle. Police said they found no other illegal items on Pujols Reynoso.

Police impounded the vehicle and told Pujols Reynoso he would receive charges in the mail for the knife and the traffic citations. It was unclear in the documents which actions were taken against the minor for the marijuana.

“(An officer) provided Pujols Reynoso a courtesy ride to GetGo in Cranberry Township,” police said.

Police later received a follow-up phone call from the original caller, who said her son had brought in a package with her name and address on it, but the phone number listed was not hers.

“Upon opening the package, she found that it contained two U.S. Bank Reliacards issued in her name from the Pennsylvania Treasury for unemployment compensation,” police said. “The switchblade-style knife was entered into evidence, along with the fraudulent debit cards.”

Once arrested and arraigned, a preliminary hearing will be held before District Judge Wayne Seibel.
