Boyers man indicted on drug, firearms charges
A county man has been indicted on federal drug and firearm law violations.
Daniel Dellich, Jr., 46, of Boyers was indicted by a federal grand jury for alleged possession with intent to deliver a substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine, according to Stephen Kaufman, acting U.S. attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
A convicted felon, Dellich was also indicted for possession of a firearm and ammunition, Kaufman said. Federal law prohibits people convicted of a felony from possession a firearm or ammunition.
The two-count indictment, unsealed Thursday, alleges Dellich was in possession of the drugs, firearms and ammunition on Aug. 26. State police and the FBI conducted the investigation that led to the indictment.
Kaufman said the maximum penalty for the drug charge is 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine, and 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for the firearms charge. The actual sentence will be determined by sentencing guidelines that are based on the seriousness of the offenses and the defendant’s criminal history.
