Maxine Gurner
Maxine H. Schriner Morgan Gurner, of Penn Township, died Aug. 15, 2021.
Born Oct. 5, 1941, in Butler, she was the daughter of Charles E. “Bud” Schriner and Vivian Miles Schriner.
She was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Michael Roman Catholic Church.
Mrs. Gurner graduated from Butler High School and attended the University of Cincinnati's College of Conservatory of Music.
She worked for the Allied Stores Corp. as a fashion buyer for the Butler and New Castle stores, and was a coordinator for the Wendy Ward Program, an affiliate of Montgomery Ward.
In the community, Mrs. Gurner was a life member of the Butler Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, a former member of the Butler County Symphony, a former member and past president of Soroptimist International of Butler County and a member of the general gifts committee of Easter Seals.
Surviving are her husband, Michael J. Gurner of Butler; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Nanette (Brian) Rau and Mrs. Nena (Daniel) Cuffin; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Steven P. Morgan; and her parents.
GURNER — A Mass of Christian burial for Maxine H. Schriner Morgan Gurner, who died Sunday, Aug. 15, 2021, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Ave., Butler.
Arrangements were handled by Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.
