William S. Loveridge

William S. Loveridge, 82, of Zelienople, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2021, while in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family.

Born Jan. 11, 1939, in New Castle, he was the son of the late Charles “Stu” Loveridge and Norma “Dee” Gordon Loveridge.

He was a graduate of Zelienople High School.Bill proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force, and was discharged with full honors.Lutheran by faith, he was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Zelienople.Bill worked for Halstead Industries, Tippins Inc., and Morgan Construction Co., and owned and operated WL Lighting & Electrical Supplies in Zelienople.He was a proud member of his community, serving as one of the first lifeguards for the Zelienople Community pool, a firefighter, a rescue scuba diver, an EMT and a member of the Masonic Lodge, where he served as past master.In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, golfing, snowmobiling with the PA Snowseekers, and spending Sundays with his family at the pool.Bill could be counted on in any situation, helping anyone with anything at any time. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a constant support system for his family.He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 59 years, Marliss Romfo Loveridge, whom he married on June 23, 1962; his children, Dee Ann Johnson, Candy (Mike) Cahall and Billie Jo (Gary) Peffer; his grandchildren, Haley, Brynn, Dalton, Chloe, Lexi, Emerson and Kennedy; and his sister, Cynthia Loveridge.BodyCopy: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Ketterer.LOVERIDGE — Friends of William S. Loveridge, who died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2021, will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Reid Moon officiating.He will be laid to rest with full military honors at the Zelienople Community Mausoleum.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his honor to Harmony Lodge 429 F&AM, 330 E.
