Car, tractor-trailer crash in Evans City
EVANS CITY — A Toyota Corolla collided with a tractor-trailer around 10 a.m. Thursday at West Main and Pattison streets, stopping traffic for about 45 minutes, according to police.
Evans City-Seven Fields Regional Police Chief Joseph McCombs said the driver of the car attempted to flee the scene, but was taken to Allegheny General Hospital. He had a broken arm, McCombs said.
Tim Ramey, the driver of the tractor-trailer, said the car T-boned his truck coming off of Pattison Street. He was headed west coming from Butler, and said the car went up under the back tires of his truck.
“He came out of nowhere and hit me,” Ramey said “He didn't hurt my truck much, but my tires went over top of the front end of that car.”
The front of the car was heavily damaged in the crash. The vehicle was towed, and traffic was cleared around 10:50 a.m.
Jackson Township Police, Harmony Fire District, Cranberry Township Police and Zelienople Police also responded to the incident.
