Bonnie Stariha
Bonnie Sue (Nery) Stariha, 84, of Sarver, passed away on Aug. 3, 2021.
Born Feb. 28, 1937, she grew up in Cheswick, and graduated from Springdale High School, where she was head majorette.
She was the longest survivor of her spouse, John Stariha.
She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Ron and Tom Nery; and her parents, Ronald and Ruth (Hull) Nery.
She is survived by five children, who were the love her life, Cindy, Ivan, Lisa, and twins, Judy and Janet.
She also enjoyed 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker, who doted over her family as well as four foster children.
When Bonnie was young, she accepted Jesus as her Savior at a Billy Graham Crusade and eagerly shared her faith. Her talents included sewing, painting China, playing the piano and organ, and baking. Bonnie prided herself on her accuracy with her .22 rifle, and loved her farm in Clinton Township, Butler County.
Alongside her late husband, she taught her children about gardening, canning, butchering cows and tending gardens. In Bonnie's later years, she cherished bottle-feeding lambs and caring for her chickens, sheep, alpacas and llamas.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Brenda Josephs, a treasured retired nurse and aide, adored for her kindness as Bonnie progressed through her last days.
STARIHA — There will be no public service for Bonnie Sue (Nery) Stariha, who died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2021.
The family will hold a private ceremony.
