Vaughn Bester, 78, of Butler, passed away Monday, Aug. 2, 2021, at Shippenville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born June 14, 1943, in Butler, and was the son of the late Marx and Dorothy June (Creel) Bester.

Vaughn served in the U.S. Navy during the years 1960 to 1964, and the Army Reserve from 1969 to 1970.He retired from Applied Test Systems, where he worked as a machinist assembler.Surviving are his stepsons, Michael Whipkey of Butler, and Jason Whipkey of Lordstown, Ohio; a nephew, Jason Bester; a niece, Rhonda (DuWayne) Welker; three grandchildren, Josie Whipkey of Lordstown, Ohio, and Seth Whipkey and Payton Whipkey, both of Butler; Uncle John Creel of Reno, Nev.; and his cousins.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia L.
