Vanda Mae Brewster

Vanda Mae (Diehl) Brewster, 92, of Butler, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Aug. 3, 2021.

Born Dec. 8, 1928, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Charles S. Diehl and the late LaCrete M. (McCormick) Diehl.

Vanda worked for several years at Woolworth's in downtown Butler.

She was a member of North Main Street Church of God.

Vanda enjoyed playing the organ, working outside in her yard and spending time with her family.

Vanda is survived by one daughter, Brenda L. Collins and her husband, Edward, of Middle Point, Ohio; one son, Burton D. Brewster and his wife, Peggy, of Chicora; her daughter-in-law, Karen Brewster of State College; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Alice Raskowsky; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Burton C. Brewster, whom she was married to for 69 years; her son, Thomas L. Brewster; her granddaughter, Christine (Chrissy) Marie Collins; three sisters, Etoile (Tillie) and her husband, Walter Morey, Vivian (Viv) and her husband, Harold Tribble, and Eileen (June) and her husband, Ronald Steighner; and one brother Russell (Russ) and his wife Phyllis Diehl.

The family gives a special thank you to the caring nurses from VNA Hospice, and her special friends from Meals on Wheels.

BREWSTER — Friends of Vanda Mae (Diehl) Brewster, who died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2021, will be received from 4 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 5 p.m. Saturday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler, with the Rev. Christy Pittman.

Private burial will take place in Butler County Memorial Park.
