Virginia B. Yundt
On Dec. 31, 2020, Virginia B. Yundt peacefully joined her beloved, David.
She was born Oct. 21, 1926, in Bellevue, and was the daughter of the late John and Anna Blattner. She was a graduate of West View High School, and was married to David A. Yundt on Aug. 20, 1949. They shared nearly 60 years devoted to each other and their family.
After moving to Zelienople in their early years together, Ginnie was active in many activities at St. Gregory Catholic Church. She sang with the Sweet Adelines, volunteered at the local library, and supported and helped with many community activities. Her focus was always on raising her three daughters and creating a loving home. In retirement, they spent many happy winters in Clearwater Beach with friends. They moved to Sherwood Oaks in 2007, where they renewed old friendships and made wonderful new friends. Ginnie remained active there volunteering in the gift shop and library.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Mary Lou. She was there to welcome her sister, Dolly, who joined them just a week later.
Ginnie is survived by her daughters and their families, Patti (Buzz) Pelland and children, Alicia Bickett and David (Jillian) Pelland, Nancy Brown and daughters, Susan (Kent) Reese and Rayna Watts, and Babs (John) Yingst and children, Brad (Christine) Yingst and Diane (Joseph) Kula; nine great-grandchildren, Connor and KatieAnn Bickett, Ella, Owen, Cat and Zeke Pelland, Shelly Reese, and Teagen and Caden Yingst; her brother, John Blattner, and her nieces and nephews.
Our family is grateful to the wonderful friends and staff at Sherwood Oaks for the thoughtful care and support Mom and Dad received during their time there, especially as we all navigated the pandemic. We cherish the memory of each visit and phone call, knowing the effort and risk it took for the nursing staff to make it happen. Thank you!
