Janet Janukites

Janet Ethel (Hotz) Janukites, 78, of Fenelton, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital.

She was born Feb. 11, 1943, in Pittsburgh, and was the daughter of the late Ralph Wilbur Hotz and Ethel Kiester. She had lived in the area for 60 years.

She worked at Moonlight Mushrooms for over 24 years, and at Lowe's for 17 years.

She belonged to the Worthington Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Lions Club and Crafty Ladies.

Janet enjoyed doing crafts, Elvis, church mission trips, bus trips, traveling, country music and anything with her grandchildren.

Janet was a loving wife, who was beloved by many. She was a wonderful friend, the best mom and grammy and the fairest person you ever met.

Survivors include her husband, Joe Janukites; her daughters, Kimberly Barnes and Julie (Johnny) Compton; her grandchildren, Sam (Stephanie) Barnes Jr., Jessica Barnes, Adam (Mercedes) Compton, Ian Compton (Laurel Wain), and Natalie (Keith) Crissman; her great-grandchildren, Taylor, Guadalupe, Westly, MaKayla, Kelsey, Kaden, Adley and Tyler; and her great-great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Aydrian.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Rose; and her son-in-law, Sam Barnes.

JANUKITES — Friends of Janet Ethel (Hotz) Janukites, who died Saturday, July 24, 2021, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, 119 Bear St., Worthington.

Additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday at Worthington Lutheran Church, 136 W. Main St., Worthington, with Pastor Sue Irons officiating.

Burial will be in Worthington Lutheran Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lions Club of Worthington, Pa., or Camp Lutherlyn, 500 Lutherlyn Lane, Butler, PA 16001.
