Mary Cress
Mary Elizabeth Cress, known to friends and family as Betty, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at the age of 78, in the comfort of her home in Olive Branch, Miss. Betty was formerly of Valencia.
For 50 years, Betty dedicated herself to caring for her patients as a nurse. This career spanned over several different medical facilities, such as St. John's, North Hills Passavant, UPMC and St. Barnabas. She received her nursing degree from West Jersey Nursing School and then her nursing practitioner degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
Betty will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 57 years, Larry, and their children, Kimberly “Kim” (Matthew) Wilkes and Keith (Jennifer) Cress. Betty also will be affectionately remembered by her four grandchildren, Shannon Wilkes, Matthew Wilkes, Larry Cress and Ella Cress. She also was known as Aunt Betty to many loving nephews, nieces and family friends who will miss her greatly.
Cress — Friends of Mary Elizabeth Cress, who died Thursday, July 22, 2021, will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave. Mars.
A service will be held at 1 p.m.
Immediate burial to follow in West Union Cemetery.
