Judith Ann Giesler

Judith Ann Giesler, 78, of Butler, passed away Friday, July 16, 2021, after fighting a short valiant battle with cancer.

She was born Jan. 22, 1943, in Grove City, and was the daughter of the late William Cloyd and Ethel (Campbell) Melvin.

Judy retired from AK Steel, where she had worked various positions. Previously, she operated “Judy Foster's” beauty shop in Slippery Rock, and she was also a licensed Realtor and notary.

In her younger years, Judy had been a member of 4-H, a gymnast, played softball, played many instruments, and loved singing/performing with her sisters.

She had been a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Grove City.

When her daughters were young, she took pride in sewing them matching outfits. She baked beautiful wedding cakes for various family and friends. Judy could do anything she set her mind to, even operating a jackhammer.

For more than 20 years, she enjoyed life at Yogi Bear Campground in Mill Run, Pa., where she could be found riding in a golf cart, delightfully greeting any guests she would encounter.

Surviving are three daughters, Lee Ann (James) Hune of Allison Park, Jacqueline (Fred) Pryor of Slippery Rock, and Tracy (Greg) Angerett of Prospect; her companion of 24 years, Randy Work of Mill Run; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bette (Ed) Sommers of Harrisville, and Barbara (Ken) Bobetich of The Villages, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Daryl Giesler.

GIESLER — Friends of Judith Ann Giesler, who died Friday, July 16, 2021, will be received from noon to 2 p.m. and from 4 p.m. until the time of the service at 6 p.m. Friday at Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.
