James Domhoff

James F. “Jim” Domhoff Sr., 82, of Butler, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2021, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot, after a yearlong battle with lung cancer.

Born June 14, 1939, in Butler, he was the son of the late Lester Domhoff Sr. and Leah (Burr) Domhoff.

He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Butler.

At age 14, Jim started working as a maintenance man and carpenter. He worked at Pullman Standard, in the carpenter shop, from 1962 until it closed in 1982. He owned and operated Domhoff's Mobile Home Park with his wife, Marion, for 52 years.

Jim enjoyed hunting at his cabin in Tionesta and camping with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marion (Weiland) Domhoff; his children, Tracey (Domhoff) Ritzert of Pittsburgh, and James Domhoff Jr. and Michael (Sue) Domhoff, both of Butler; his grandchildren, Leah (Jason) Frawley, Marisa (Keenan) O'Neill, and Drake Domhoff; and his siblings, Donald Domhoff, Mary Brewster, Gertrude Campbell, Bonnie Marburger and Carol Shearer.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his three siblings, Lester Domhoff Jr., Mildred Weidenhof and Edith Atkinson.

DOMHOFF — Friends of James F. “Jim” Domhoff Sr., who died Sunday, July 18, 2021, will be received from 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Boylan Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Connoquenessing Township, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.

Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at noon Thursday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., Butler, with the Rev. David M. Phillips officiating.

Jim will be laid to rest at Butler County Memorial Park.
