Glenda C. Kelly

Glenda C. Kelly

Glenda C. Kelly, 64, of Butler, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2021, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born July 6, 1957, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late George N. “Red” and Norma J. (Brown) Slater.

She was a 1975 graduate of Butler Area High School, a 1977 graduate of Butler County Community College, and had worked at Butler Memorial Hospital as an inventory control clerk, retiring in 2020.

She was a devoted and loving wife to Patrick Kelly for 31 years. The couple married on March 17, 1990, in Butler.

Glenda was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan, and a past member of the Meridian Woodpeckers Fife & Drum Corps.

She was an avid reader, and reading a book was a lifelong passion. She enjoyed working in the garden, watching the birds and hanging out with her family or her fur babies, Molly, Ava and Edsel.

She loved life and making people laugh with her slapstick sense of humor. All of her family and friends will miss her daily jokes and puns on Facebook.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two brothers, Gary (Cher) Slater and Gavon Slater, and three sisters, Georgia Slater, Gloria (Andrew) Yaracs, and Gail Slater, all of Butler; as well as eight nephews and three nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
