Ellen M. George

Ellen M. George, 95, of Butler, passed away on July 18, 2021, at the Chicora Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 28, 1926, in Butler, and was the daughter of the late John S. Dickey and the late Hazel Carter Dickey.

Ellen worked as a registered nurse for Allegheny Valley Hospital.

She was a member of Christ Community United Methodist Church.

Ellen was a member of TOPS 153. She enjoyed puzzles, bingo and crafts.

Ellen is survived by her two sons, Galen (Becky) George of West Virginia, and Dana (Donna) George of Butler; three grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles George, whom she married on Feb. 2, 1951, and who passed away on Aug. 20, 2004; three sisters; and three brothers.

GEORGE — Friends of Ellen M. George, who died Sunday, July 18, 2021, will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Thursday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler. The Rev. Anette V. Gerber of Christ Community United Methodist Church will be officiating.

Burial will take place in Rose Hill Cemetery.
