NAMI offers mental health program

To address the upsurge in mental health issues resulting from COVID-19, National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Butler County is enhancing its program offerings for families and friends affected by a loved one’s mental illness.

Beginning 6 p.m. Sept. 29, NAMI Butler is offering the Family-to-Family program via Zoom. It’s an eight-week, evidence-based program taught by trained family members. Wednesday classes continue virtually through Nov. 17. All course materials are furnished at no cost.

Course topics include treatments and therapies, finding local support services, handling crises, problem-solving, communicating effectively with ill loved ones, managing stress and understanding the impact a mental health condition can have on families and friends.

Registration is open through Sept. 15 by visiting namibutler.org, emailing info@namibutler.org or by calling 724-431-0069.
